Scott serves as Senior Consultant - Business Development for Caprin and is responsible for client service and new business development for central Virginia and the Tidewater area. Prior to joining Caprin, Scott was a financial advisor with Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc. working with a team managing equity and bond portfolios for high net worth individuals. He also served briefly as a Vice President with Legg Mason Trust, responsible for expanding trust business throughout the Legg branches in Virginia.

From 1998 to 2001, Scott was with Tredegar Trust Company, a regional full-service trust company , serving as Vice President - Business Development and sitting on the Investment Committee. He was successful in developing a large volume of new clients and assets for Tredegar.

Prior to working for Tredegar, Scott was the sole owner of two businesses. One, a wholesale distributor of heating and cooling equipment, Columbia Supply Corporation, and the other, Miller-Carneal Insurance, an independent insurance agency which he ran for thirteen years before selling to a large regional insurance broker. Scott is also a past president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Richmond.

Scott is active in community affairs in Richmond and has served on several non-profit boards such as the Children's Museum of Richmond and the Arthritis Foundation of Central Virginia.

Scott is a 1971 Graduate of Virginia Military Institute and received his MBA from Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia, in 1975.
