Eddie is a Managing Director with responsibility for Municipal Bond Trading and the firm’s Credit Committee. He has extensive experience in the municipal securities industry at both the state and national level. Prior to joining Caprin, he was employed by J.C. Bradford & Co. as an Investment Limited Partner and managed the firm's Mid-Atlantic Municipal Commitment Center. Eddie was also a Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Scott & Stringfellow, Inc. where he managed the firm's Municipal Bond Department. Those Management responsibilities included direct oversight of Public Finance, Underwriting, Trading, Institutional and Retail Sales as well as Compliance. He joined Scott & Stringfellow in 1984 as the result of a merger with Horner-Barksdale & Company, where he began his career in 1976. Eddie was Horner-Barksdale & Company's Senior Municipal Trader and developed the company's national institutional client base.
Eddie is a former Governor and past President of the Bond Club of Virginia. Nationally he served a three-year term as one of five securities industry representatives on the fifteen-member Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) that was established by Congress and is the primary rulemaking authority for the municipal securities industry. Prior to his board term, he served as an Arbitrator for the MSRB. Eddie is a former member of The Bond Club of New York, The Bond Market Association's Regional Dealer Advisory Committee and The Bond Market Association's Municipal Sales and Marketing Committee. Eddie has been active in the Lynchburg community having served on the board of several non-profit organizations. He is a member of Hampden-Sydney College's Alumni Advisory Board, the Parents Council and The Society of Founders. Eddie is a 1976 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College.
