Mike joined Caprin Asset Management as Director of Taxable Portfolio Management before assuming his increased company-wide responsibilities.  Prior to joining Caprin, Mike was Managing Director and Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Parata Capital Management where he co-managed the firm's short term bond portfolios to enhance returns and liquidity for municipal working capital.  Mike spent much of his investment career at T. Rowe Price Associates where he was part of a two person team which established the stable asset division de novo and grew it over 13+ years to a nationally recognized investment manager for corporate and governmental retirement plans.  Mike was the division's Vice President  and Senior Portfolio Manager, serving as the senior investment officer with responsibility for managing the investment professionals and for investing client assets in excess of $8 billion.  Under Mike's leadership, the investment team developed a strong client focused and results-oriented practice for its Fortune 500 and state governmental clients.  Mike managed the division's largest portfolios and relationships, established and directed portfolio policy for all accounts, and served on numerous management and oversight committees.  Mike began his investment career as a portfolio manager and analyst with Capitoline Investment Services.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and his Masters of Business Administration from the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University.  Mike was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA ™) designation in 1998, and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Richmond Society of Financial Analysts.  In Mike's management role at T. Rowe Price, he was selected for executive leadership development at both The Levinson Institute and The Center for Creative Leadership.

Mike remains active in the community and currently serves on the Finance Committee at Trinity United Methodist Church.  He has served on the Board of Directors at Kanawha Recreation Association, holding the offices of President, Vice President and Treasurer.  Mike was also active as a volunteer and assistant coach with the Richmond Strikers Soccer Club.
